The Ecotect Network Licence Manager is available to anyone with one or more valid Ecotect licences. It is a separate application that runs and controls shared network licences across your local area network. You will have received a link to this when you purchased you software. Otherwise, you can obtain a download link using the process outlined in the Obtaining Your Licence Actvation Details page.
The following is an overview of each tab within the main application window.
SERVER MANAGEMENT
Network licences for Ecotect require a computer within your organisation to act as a Local Network Licence Server. Use this the items on this tab to manage your licence server and check the status of licences.
LICENCE SERVICE
The actual serving of network licences is performed by a background process that runs as a Windows service. Services start when the operating system is booted and stay in the background as long as Windows is running, or can be started and stopped manually. This Ecotect Network Licence Manager simply sends commands to the service to change settings and query it's status.
Use the items in this tab to install this service and add/remove purchased licences. This can only be done when the Ecotect Network Licence Manager is running on the same machine as the local service.
INTERNET ACCESS
To validate licences and return expired loans, your local licence server must periodically contact an Autodesk Ecotect Activation Server. It does this by sending a simple HTTP GET command once every few hours. If you use a proxy server or a different port for web access, you need to enter those details in this tab.
You can also use the buttons here to check your computer's external IP address and verify that you can access the Ecotect Activation Server.
EVENT LOG
This tab shows you the last few lines of the local licence server's even log. If you are having problems with your server, chances are that there will be a indication in this list. For maximum checking, set the Log Events setting to Full Diagnostic. However, you should not leave it at this setting all the time as you may end up with a very large log file.
HISTORY
If some of your licences have been activated as Desktop licences, you can use this page to see whan they were activated and which machine has them.
