Once you have a 3D model of your building, you essentially have a live spreadsheet from which you can take off area, volumes and distances and relate them directly to the materials from which the building is formed.
Fabric Costs
Every material used in ECOTECT can be assigned capital and ongoing maintenance costs, as well as embodied energy and greenhouse gas emission data. This allows for detailed fabric and environmental cost tracking and for cost schedules to be instantly generated at any stage of the design or construction process.
Fabric costs and environmental impacts.
Cumulative annual resource use.
Resource Management
Appliances and materials within a model can both consume and produce resources based on their operation. ECOTECT can produce graphs of cumulative resource usage over the entire year, to compare electricity use and photovoltaic generation, or water consumption and rainfall catchment.
