QUESTION:

What is the difference between a commercial and student licence ?

I will be using the software under a student licence, but when I have finished my course will I then have to pay the price for a full licence?

ANSWER:

The features and operation of all Square One software are the same no matter what licence you are using -- commercial, educational or student.

The main difference is that a commercial licence entitles you to use the software for commercial profit and allows you to upgrade to later versions of the software at a cheaper rate. With the student licence, you can use the version that you have purchased for as long as you like (even after you finish your course - there is no time-out period), but to upgrade to a new version requires a new licence (unless you are still a student at the time).

Obviously if you will be using ECOTECT commercially (i.e. using it on commercial projects) when you finish, you will need to purchase a full commercial licence so as to not breach the student licence agreement for the software.
