Okay, once in a while, I'll ask for a neafty feature...
I have just gotten my hands on a very neat tool call the Space Navigator from 3D Connexion.
Put simply, the space navigator is a very well made 3d joystick that enable the user to naviguate in a 3D environment.
Needless to say, Google Earth just becomes even more enjoyable, as the navigation is quite smooth - granted after a few minutes of practice.
Now, you see my question coming up here: I am just a clut when it comes to navigate in the OpenGl environment of Ecotect and would love to have Ecotect support the Space Navigator.
For this purpose, 3D connexion offers a SDKpackage for developper. I have no idea how easy it is to implement, but quite a few CAD software, as well as the Google and Adobe products have already jumped on the bandwagon.
I hope to see Ecotect featuring the device in the near future.
Cheers,
Olivier

It Looks Good...
Hi Olivier,
I've downloaded the SDK and will have a look at it over the next few days. We should really buy one in order to actually test that it actually works I guess...
Hope that helps...
Kind regards,
Andrew

Any news on development?
Any news on development?
Kind Of...
Hi Oliver,
We actually had a stand right next to the 3D Connexion people at the recent Graphisoft IPC in Munich. It was only a relatively small event for Graphisoft's resellers and independent developers, but during the couple of days there they must have given away about a hundred of them to pretty well anyone who showed the slightest interest.
I gave a brief demo of ECOTECT to what looked like one of their more senior guys and discussed how I might implement it. However he was kind of disinterested and quickly went back to giving away freebies to passers-by.
Needless to say I wasn't offered a freebie and was left a bit confused at getting such short shrift. I would have thought that the more tools that supported it, the more sales they would generate.
Still I'm sure we've done the same many times and unintentionally left people a bit peeved at us so I certainly shouldn't complain
...
Kind regards,
Andrew
