After not using my purchased weather tool software for a few months I went to start the programme to use it for an urgent report I am using and I kept getting the same error note as follows
"The system DLL user 32 DLL was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly .The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\Windows \system32\HHCTR.OCX occupied an address reserved for Windows system DLL's.The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL"
Apart from being complete gobbledy gook to me this is incredibly frustrating. Can you please advise what to do to fix this.

This is actually a bug with a recent Windows Update and will occur with Weather Tool, Solar Tool and ECOTECT because of the help file system that is used in all 3 programs.
The fix for this issue is listed on the Square One homepage and involves running a Windows Hotfix.
This Windows bug has been around for a couple of months while now and has also been detailed at this "Missing DLL" bug report.

weather tool
I am having trouble loading the location data into my weather tool.I can locate the site I want the information for and double click it and it goes into the weather tool but the tool wont display weather for that location.
I am not sure why.It is like it is not connecting the location tool to the weather tool even though it says it is connected .Some times it does it easily but other times it doesn't.
Please advise.

Location Tool
Hi John,
Not too sure what the issue is.
I never knew you could actually open weather data from the Location Tool. the only thing it does - to my knowledge - is set the location's latitude and longitude. Is that what you where after?
Best,
Olivier
weather tool
Olivier
Thanks for your response.
I am getting quite annoyed with my weather tool at present. After using it effectively it is now not responding the way it should.
let me take you through the steps.
1 I locate the place on the location tool
2 I have a weather dat file of Australia
3 I double click on the location tool and it brings the location to the the Weather tool or I transfer the coordinates that the location tool gives me.
My understanding is that the location tool only displays sites there is a corresponding weather file for?.
4 previously you just put in the coordinates of a location that came up in Australia on the location tool and the weather tool undertook the analysis and gave me some outputs
4 Now I have the coordinates I cant get the weather tool to do the analysis of the weather for those coordinates
5 Am i missing out on something here.
6 What is the trigger that makes the weather tool analyse the weather for those coordinates
I seem to be missing something and the instructions for the tool are poor.Maybe i need to re download the weather file for Australia and I dont even know how to do that.
I have used this tool numerous times and I still dont know what to press the commence the analysis on the tool.I just seem to fudge it somehow .
Thanks Olivier

Can any one tell me how to transfer the weather data files in spreadsheet type of format from the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia into the Weather tool?

Weather Tool + Location Tool
Hello John,
I am sorry to say that I do not think the location tool gets you to upload the actual weather file from the selected location. As far as i know - and I can do - the Location Tool only loads up the latitude, longitude, time zone and station name into the Weather Tool, not the actual Weather file. (See Location Tool).
To upload weather files from Australia, you should go to the Weather Data download page here. There is quite a few .wea from Australia!
As per your second post, I do not know the Australian Bureau of Meteorology format, but you should be able to import it into Weather Tool by selecting File > Open and select in the drop down menu "separated value file". The weather tool should then direct you to a window for you to assign each column from your spreadsheet file to a known data value (radiation, temperature etc...).
Best,
Olivier
import weather file
Hi Olivier
Thanks for that.
Unfortunately that has only opened the part of the file window that says to import but it is blank.I guess we have to transfer the info from the weather bureau file to that import window but that is apprarently beyond a computer guy of my standing
The weather bureau info is in a csv format.
The SQ 1 website says the Weather tool is able to import files from the Weather bureau in a certain format but I am not sure how to do that.I was hoping it did it automatically somehow.
Any ideas?
Also Olivier I am keen to get training in OZ on Ecotect but they never answer my emails or queries on this matter and consequently I have no idea on how to improve my skills without flying to the US.
Any ideas.?

transferring CSV Files into weather tool
Dear Olivier,
I am trying to follow your tip on the transferring of CSV files from oue weather bureau into the weather tool.
I have the dialgue box open and have imported the CSV file from the Bureau into the dialogue box.I cant grasp the relationships between the left column and what you put on the right. Is the left column supposed to relate to the info that is sitting above which has come from the bureau?.I cant get the logic that drives the link betwen the left and right columns. What does the right column relate to.The info from the bureau doesn't seem to relate to the info in the left column exactly.I can transfer and make all the columns on the right look like the example in the tutorial but if I press import there is just one line imported into the Weather tool.I have had a good study of the tutorials but still cant get the actual link between the columns and the info imported from the bureaus' csv file.
Any clarifications here.?
Thanks john brodie

weather file for Olivier
Hi Olivier,
See how you go with this file.I have saved it as XLS as it wouldnt let me upload as a CSV.
If you have any trouble with the actual file go to www.bom.gov.au then to Climate then to Queensland then to Tewantin and the original file is there.
Any assistance would be great as I am having to do this analysis on many locations in OZ that aren't in the WEA file store but are in the BOM records.
Thanks mate.

Wheather File Import
Hi John,
I had a look at your file. unfortunately, it is not a hourly breakdown...
The Weather Tool and Ecotect need to have hourly data for their weather file. the one from the site is a monthly statistics.
I went to the site to check it out...
I guess for now you could use the wea file from Brisbane which seems to be the closest available...
I may be able to help you if you can find some hourly data for your station...Dry bulb Temperature...Relative Humidity...Global Radiation...Cloudiness...Windspeed.
have you had a look at the E+ page for other data file? The Weather Tool will import these easily.
Best,
Olivier
