Use of Home and End keys

Project:Ruler Tool
Component:Miscellaneous
Category:bug report
Priority:normal
Assigned:andrew
Status:active
Description

There appears to be some odd behaviour if the home and end keys are pressed when using the Ruler. The use of the home key to set the start cursor to zero is sensible but it does not always set to zero. Pressing the home and end keys multiple times also gives some odd numbers on the position readout on the ruler. Also, it is possible to set the start cursor to a negative number, which if not noticed leads to incorrect lengths being reported. I believe that neither the start nor end cursors should be allowed to go outside the ruler.

Restricting Measurement Cursor

comment posted by andrew :: 4 July 2006 - 7:06am

Hi Keith,

Now that you point it out, being able to set the start or end cursor values outside the the bounds of the ruler is a bit silly. I will change it so you cannot go below zero and that moving the cursor beyond the end of the ruler actually resizes it up until it hits the screen edge.

I've assigned this to me and updated its status so that I do revisit the way the keys work to see what I have done...

Thanks for your interest...
Andrew
