QUESTION:
In my ECOTECT model the perspective and elevation views place the model at the very bottom of the screen. When orbiting the view, the length of the z-axis is many times larger than the x and y.
This issue is making the model difficult to rotate and move around - any ideas ?
ANSWER:
When you first load a file, ECOTECT attempts to fit the view to all visible objects in the model. It sounds like you have a single point or object that is a long way above your main model.
If you drag a selection window well above all your proper geometry, you should see in the bottom-left corner of the Status Bar that one or more objects are selected - even if you cannot see them in the display because they are too small. This is shown in the Status Bar as 1/918 i.e. 1 object selected of 918 total objects in model.
Once deleted, Ctrl+F should work fine and fit to the main model, making rotating and orbiting much more logical.
