transform animation to 3D-model

[Archived phorum post from squ1.com v2 by Limor]

hey,
I'm a second year student at "SHENKAR" design college, and I'm finding a lot of help in your program.
However, I'm having a little problem, and I was wondering if you could help me.
I used the acoustic side of the program, and I was wondering if there is any way to transform the sittuation of the animated rays into any cad program. In that I mean- is there a way to transform the sittuation in which I've build a kind of box, and in the display setting I pressed the "animated rays", and I want that the final sittuation of the rays would be able to transform into a 3D-model, which would be able to be used in any kind of CAD program, or even in the EXCEL program. (AutoCad, Microstation ect...)

if there is a possibility to speed things up a little, cause it's a bit urgent to me, I'll be appreciate it alot.

Thank you so much,
Limor

Limor,

I am not sure you can exportthe traced rays into CAD, but you can certainly export your model to CAD by exporting it as .dxf. File » Export
Try it with the rays, perhaps it works.

Best,

thank you for responding, but that I know. I cad export all the models I built to CAD, but I need to track the rays, are you sure there is no way to export the rays as well? even without the model, maybe just the numeric way, even if I'll be able to transform it into excel it would be great.

thank you,
Limor
